Forgive

Forgive  One Word One Way One Savior ~Debbie Matthew 6: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. John 1:1   In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 14:6   Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Jude 1:25  To the only wise God our Saviour,  be  glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Prayer

In John 17 , the KJV the chapter subheadings are broken into 3 parts: 1)  Jesus' prayer for himself 2)  Jesus' prayer for His disciples 3)  Jesus' prayer for believers I see a circle of reciprocals.  Jesus modeled The Father and we model Jesus Christ.  Jesus manifested God's name to the men God gave him.  Jesus gave us the words which God gave Him. God's word (logos) (rhema) is living word. As we pray His word, Living- alive word, there is a reciprocal that happens.  As He is, so are we. Praying The Word of God is a seed planted in the eternal.  In the natural world when you plant a living seed in soil or moisture you receive what you planted.  **As conditions are favorable, the seed buds and comes forth. ** Spiritually, praying the Word brings a harvest, because God honors His Word and the Word will not come back without result. Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish

Jehovah Jireh, God is Our Provider

Today, as I was doing chores my attention was refocused with a scripture that was being spoken as I walked into another room. The sentence fragment that boomed into my hearing was from the gospel of Luke about the Prodigal. Luke 15:20   But when he was yet a great way off , his father saw him,  and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. As I heard this scripture the LORD reminded me that life and our walk with Him is a journey. In the past I painted an Art Parable called   The Prodigal and Family  .                                                                   The Prodigal and Family                                                         © 2010 Debbie Turner Chavers When I was younger I would hear people say "We got a ways to go yet" to my questions of arrival or timing.  It may take a while, but keep moving toward the Father.  If you have been overcome with a prodigal mindset or lifestyle choice, keep moving toward God.  Do not run a

Repost from Beth Moore's blog

I am posting an excerpt from Beth Moore's blog at  LPM  from September 13, 2014. Enjoy!  God loves us so much. Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Proverbs 15:23   A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken   in due season, how good   is it ! Beth's encouragement below was just that, ..a word in due season for me, I pray it is a word spoken in due season for you also. ~Debbie My Beloved Sister, Jesus drew you to this day To call you to respond. What will you do With what He has said? God chose you and gifted you For this very generation. You are the exact woman Jesus came looking for today. Stop telling yourself This is about someone else You are the one He wants. You’re not too young. You’re not too old. You haven’t strayed too far Or waited too long. Let Jesus step fully into your story A

Remember

Remember. God Loves You. Psalm 33:11-12  The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, and the people whom he hath chosen for his inheritance. 1Peter 2:9-10  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of the darkness into his marvelous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. -Debbie All writing, poetry, posts, art, and photography, copyright © 2014 Debbie Turner Chavers. Weed or Flower?

Image
Waiting to be Filled  © 2005 Debbie Turner Chavers I originally posted this encouragement in 2010. When my oldest daughter was a little girl she presented an older family member with a freshly picked flower from the yard. I do not remember what the flower was, but the person who received the gift saw it as a weed, not as a flower. He considered all flowers that were not of the genius that he cultivated to be weeds. He worked in horticulture and propagated new flowers. He had mastered flower knowledge yet was in the infant stage of sensitivity. He failed to see the bud of sharing that was growing in my young daughters heart. "That is not a flower, that is a weed" he said, as she presented her gift. " I do not want it, take it out of the house." Her child like response was " But I picked it for you". Needless to say. I was not pleased and my daughter appeared confused by the rejection. She went from a smile and out stretched hand to a

His Body

Recently, I heard a conversation between a young girl and her grandpa in the parking lot on the way into the sanctuary at church.  As I walked I overheard her asking a question as a statement. "The fingers and toes are important.  Aren't they papa? " "Yes, they are." He replied. Within a few seconds I was in the building and they were part of the crowd around me.  Just a bit of random overheard conversation on my journey.  Or was it? I think not.  I have been studying for the past couple of weeks the role of the body of Jesus Christ in the earth and my part in that body. One of my conversations with the LORD as He is teaching me was an example based on a missing part within a whole. Mental imagery, a pie with a slice missing.  The pie is still a pie yet the imagery shows you something is missing! The slice of pie has left the building! Think of a stick figure, even the youngest artist will draw a head, a trunk, two arms, and two legs.  But we all know th

Shackled...to Freedom

Image
Invisible Walls, Luke 4:18, Setting the Captives Free                          © 1996 Debbie Turner Chavers                         My Initial Art Journal Sketch As I was cleaning house, I started thinking about salvation and how rules and regulations appear to our fleshly nature.  Whenever we have been shackled in any kind of bondage, unsaved condition or  habit and are finally set free, even wearing a bracelet can feel impossible to manage. Any weight of condemnation or rules governing us, seem unbearable to our fleshly nature. Almost offensive, instead of seeing the rules or regulations as protection, we can, without  knowledge of God's word and His character view them as bondage. In our lack of understanding it just becomes a different kind of bondage. It is so very important that we renew our mind in God's word so as to understand His heart toward us. The Love of God shows us that His Word is a beautiful gift given by God to His Beloved. You and I.  As yo

Think on These Things

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things  are  honest, whatsoever things  are  just, whatsoever things  are  pure, whatsoever things  are  lovely, whatsoever things  are  of good report; if  there be  any virtue, and if  there be any  praise, think on these things. Daily we are given the opportunity to think.  There are so many scriptures that admonish us to control our thoughts.  I want to encourage you to put up an umbrella of God's word over your thinking cap! It is imperative to your well being to imprint God's word in your spirit.  To see yourself in God's Word.  See yourself in the pages of victory. The Bible...your love story. Your great adventure.  Your battle won.  Your land of more than enough.  Your moment when the sun stands still.   See yourself and His love for you woven in the tapestry of time.  God has not forgotten you. He loves you.  Psalm 139:17  How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great

Adversity

Photo of Carrot, Egg, and Coffee Bean  ©  2014  Debbie Turner Chavers I could not find the original author of the story "Carrot, Egg, or Coffee Bean?  The story is presented in several versions online.  The young woman could be older or be a male.  I see the story as a representational parable. The mother could be you.  Regardless of the role played, the sentiment is the same. Really think through the story....are you acting as the pot of water?  If so...turn off the heat.  Or do you relate more to the things being boiled? How do you respond to adversity?  ~Debbie Psalm 37:39  But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble. Carrot, Egg, or Coffee Bean ? A young woman told her mother about her life and how things were so hard.  She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed that as one problem was solve

Neutral

Life can have you running at a high rpm. So when life is coming at you hard and fast, do not forget that little gear called  Neutral . Shifting life's demands can require a steady hand, a close eye on the road, and regular fill-ups. N eutral  in my life is spending time with God through prayer and the reading of His word. But even with regular maintenance, the issues of life still shift me into high gear at times. Sometimes the frenetic pace seems a bit exciting, but an all out run for your money, can also drain your last bit of energy for the road ahead. So. Back to Neutral ... literally. This point was driven home recently by the need to drive someone else's car and my inability to shift from Park to Reverse. The car had a stick shift that refused to go into gear while the engine was running. No amount of self-effort would move it. So I sat there, becoming more aggravated by the moment. All my effort still left me in   Park. When I turned off the engine and applied t

A Life Redemption

Good Morning, I read an amazing encouragement this morning from Joyce Meyer in "100 ways to simplify your life". I pulled out the gist of the message that refreshed me from pages 61-62. "Condemnation is a feeling of guilt and shame that presses you down. Jesus comes to lift us up, not press us down. It is the devil who wants to press us down and keep us there. He brings condemnation, but Jesus offers forgiveness and restoration. The devil offers complexity and confusion; Jesus offers simplicity in  its purest form.  Every time we sin, the Holy Spirit convicts us but the devil tries to denounce and condemn us.  We need to know the difference. Conviction is for the purpose of leading us to admit our sin and repent.  Condemnation only makes us feel guilty and actually weakens us and keeps us in a cycle of sin.  We must decide not to accept condemnation." -Joyce Meyer ----------------------------------------- I am reminded that God lo

Shotgun Gospel repost

Daily I realize the gift that God has given mankind, the gift of choice, the ability to come to Him freely. He has invited  ALL  to come to Him.  God is an equal opportunity LORD of All. If your choice is wrong there are consequences. Right or wrong choice, a consequence. But you always have a choice.  God will not force you into a shotgun gospel relationship. Those who come to Him must come willingly. He wants you to gladly come to the Marriage Feast of the Lamb. But I ask, "How long will you halt between two opinions? Today is the day. He is knocking at your hearts door asking you to be in an eternal relationship with Him. Marry him.  Give yourself and your will completely, wholly to Him.  He will in no wise cast you out.  He will not divorce you, reject you, or look away when you are less than lovely. He will behold you and say MINE. Will you say YES to the King of kings and Lord of lords? Will you? If yes. There will be rejoicing. As with any wedding there will be

Blood

I wrote this in 2011 and felt led to share it again. The beauty of communion.  I do not like pictures of a suffering Christ, yet I find great comfort in partaking in the Lord's Supper. I celebrate His victory, His obedience, that bought our freedom from sin and death. Matthew 26:28     For  this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed  for  many  for  the  remission  of  sins . The shedding of His blood bought you and I the beauty of salvation. Jesus has invited us to accept his offer of salvation and afterwards to remember his gift to us through the taking of Communion. We have been entrusted with the privilege of eating with the Lamb of God here on earth and in Heaven. To eat, drink and remember His sacrifice, therefore I take communion on a regular basis to remember Him as He said. If you do a study of the word  blood  in scripture, you will see that God is quite specific about its importance. There are 447 listings of the word  blood in the bible. As you rea
