Time=Eternity Poem

Image
Time=Eternity © 2010 Debbie Turner Chavers Lest this be misunderstood, let me add that I am glad for the choice that God made for my own parents. We can not choose our parents. God does that for us. God knew us before we were ever formed in our mothers womb. Psalm 139 Yet God does give us the choice of who our Father will be after we are born naturally. Choose wisely. Choose for Eternity. Your choice will not only effect you but also those who love you. There is great joy to be had in the presence of the Lord. You are wanted. You are invited to the party. You are invited to the family reunion. No worries. The clothing will be provided. Your invited! **Want to Attend? Isaiah 61:10   I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath...

Maturity Level

I love spending time with my children and my grand daughters. The Lord often shows me Word parables as I interact in daily life. His wisdom magnified in the hearts of His children. We can learn much by loving observation as they mature physically and spiritually around us. As my grand-daughter was helping me recently, I found myself directing her in a softer tone of voice. As I spoke to her, I heard in my spirit "This is why the voice and knowledge we give concerning God's word is presented "age appropriately." There are levels of maturity, spiritually and naturally. Those that are mature in the things of God can chew the meat of the word by use. Those newly born or that are at a toddler stage in their walk with God may still need the milk of God's word. Be led by the Spirit of God in your speaking to others. Let your conversation be seasoned with the love and knowledge of God. We are all maturing. ~Debbie Speak the truth in love.. Car Wash?

There are all kinds of cars and all kinds of people. People and cars need to be washed and detailed regularly. I have been thinking about Ephesians 5:26 regularly. One of the ways we like to clean our flesh vehicle is to attend church for fellowship, praise,worship and attendance to God's word. Gathering in groups to study the word of God is similar to going through a drive through car wash. The car is washed but you still might want to detail your vehicle before or after the washing. Most individuals visit the detail area to do a thorough cleaning of the inside of the car. In this illustration, detailing represents our individual time spent in His word and in His presence. I want to encourage you to take time for the detailing. After all most of us appreciate that new car smell! ~Debbie Ephesians 5:26,27   That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or...

Jesus or "Mr" Jesus

Can Two Walk Together, Except They Be Agreed? © 2004 Debbie Turner Chavers Amos 3:3 More than a few months ago, I attended a teaching sermon and made copious notes with reference to who had spoke. Making a lot of notes is normal for me. It is my habit to write the name or initials of the one who spoke. But on this particular occasion, instead of writing the initials of the speakers, I found myself writing the name of the teachers as Mr. And Mrs....instead of Brother and Sister ?. Once I left the teaching session, I pondered why I had written my notes in this manner.  The teachers appeared to be a brother and sister of mine, in Christ, so I was puzzled by my written note formality. As I thought on it, I realized that I had verbally acknowledged their kinship in Christ, but mentally, I knew there was not an established relationship between us, which transferred to my notes. This train of thought led to a further pondering of initial salvation and the formality and in...

A Paradox in Poetry and Art

Image
Enough © 2004 Debbie Turner Chavers Poetry is expressed from where I am, where I have been, and where I am going. I write the poem as an expression of human nature and spiritual longing. Throughout time, spirit and verbal expression have moved man. At times I write poetry after reading scripture, at times when I am pondering, rolling over my need for expression.  I painted an Art Parable titled "Enough" and after reading Isaiah 54, I saw a paradox in my poem of 2013 and my painting in 2004. Isaiah 54:2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes. I don't believe another can tell you when you are full. There is a satiety point for all. As you partake in consuming, only you can say when you are full. Whether you have need of filling or have had enough. My point is..EAT until you are full. ~Debbie I Long For You I long for you For you to fill my...

Man Shall Not Live by Bread Alone © 2006 Debbie Turner Chavers This past year, I started a year long attempt at memorizing specific scriptures with other women from around the world.  We all joined together online at Living Proof Ministries..aka Beth Moore's website. It was a joyful journey of dependence on the Holy Spirit to help me remember "in application" and assorted sticky notes visually! On December 15, 2015 we were to give our 24th verse and to share abit of our journey.  I have included my last post on the LPM blog from SSMT 2015 below. Psalm 20:7 has been a familiar comfort over the years and it seemed fitting to be the last verse for my year long endeavor.  This week-end, the LPM siesta's gathered together to hear Beth speak, celebrate their milestones, and rejoice in a blessed task accomplished. I was not able to attend the conference, but I rejoiced in the gathering of all the ladies who were present to celebrate.  I am sure it was amazing ...

Freely Receive, Freely Give

1/2 Hearted Obedience © 2013 Debbie Turner Chavers Today decide.  Who will YOU serve?  We are to have singleness of heart toward our Redeemer. All we have and all we are is due Him.  He has paid in Full our Redemption.  There is a fear in those gathered in mankind of a usurpation. Those that have, which is all, are fearful that someone will take their place.  Rightfully so. For someone has. Jesus Christ has taken and borne our transgressions away. Men of flesh and bone fear failure.  We cling to our gifts with soulful remorse, knowing and acknowledging little of the value given that is to be shared in this world. We strive to hang on to our gifting, instead of letting go.  Our heart of pride recognizes the gift within, but quickly shuts the box and ties the bow as though we have not seen His glory. What are we thinking? What are we doing? We carefully guard our perceived value, intending to be paid well...for that which we have been free...
