Just as I am

Image
Going Home © Debbie Turner Chavers I was impressed this morning with the remembrance of a hymn that has always ministered to me since receiving Jesus Christ as my Saviour.  The hymn is Just as I Am, Without One Plea. As humans we tend to make the gospel message difficult, but the fact is, God wants you.  He wants you just as you are.  Sins and all.  You see HE has made a provision for that.  He has made a way for that.  His son, Jesus Christ and His shed blood at Calvary.  Come to Him just as you are.  You will leave the old you at His cross and rise in Christ as a new creature. Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together , saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. John 14:16   Jesus saith unto him, I am the way , the truth , and the life: no man come...

Words Revolving

Original water color painting "Behold the Man, The Word Became Flesh " copyright © 2005 Debbie Turner Chavers My new birth, birthday is January 1st of each new year.  As I enter into a new year I contemplate the hope that most of us feel with a new beginning.  Diets, new resolutions, new beginnings are on most of our minds. So with that in mind I want to encourage you to find a verse that will help you stay focused on a positive move forward in your own everyday life. Prayerfully consider God's word which is His promises to each of us and write out one or more that ministers to you and your needs.  I have written mine down on a banner and will refer to it throughout the coming year to remind myself of my focus. I looked up the scriptures below and was fascinated with the meaning of the word fitly.  The context meant to revolve like a wheel.  A word that is revolving or repeating in a circle, like a wheel.  So I will take the word fitly...

Your Hired

Did you know that you can become a new creation in Christ Jesus? That the old things can disappear and that God will do a new thing in you? Do you drag through each day hoping that things will get better? Are you waiting on someone else to fix your attitude, your family, your job, your life? Well, the change starts with you. Yes, you. This should be a word of encouragement to you. The only thing we can attempt to change is our self through submitting to God's good word for us. You have everything you need to get started. And yes, you are the right person for the job. I am excited for you. Today is a new day with infinite possibility and you have been gifted with this irreplaceable day and your irreplaceable life. Do not be discouraged. God has a good plan for you, to do you good and prosper you. Get in agreement with Him. God knew you before you were born, before you were created. So what are you waiting on? You are not hidden from God's care or eyes. Ask Him today, to help y...

This is Painful.

Are you broken? I am considering this question from several angles. It is necessary to allow God to break you in some areas....to remold any given area to reflect His glory. This is painful. At times I have willing submitted to a known area of needed breaking down and fixing. And at other times, I have been broken and fixed......screaming and kicking, all the way to the potter's wheel! It hurt each time, willing or unwilling. Each choice brought a different form of pain. Yet each time there is a beauty that appears in my character that I have to acknowledge would have never of happened unless the breaking occurred. Oh! Sometimes.... I can see the crack of "less than" concerning His will in my life. At times it is glaringly obvious to others and myself. At times it is a struggle for me to understand or see the less than divine nature I exhibit. God wants to conform you and I into the image of Jesus Christ. This is painful. Our natural man appears deformed spiritually and ...
