On June 12, 2019 I was told that my sister had died unexpectedly of a heart attack on the 11th. Silence. No more laughter with my sister. Silence. No more time or opportunities with her. Silence. Until Heaven. Terri was my younger sister by 11 months. My only sibling. We were total opposites in almost everything. I loved her, the gift of her. No matter our difference of opinion on almost every subject in life, I was grateful that she was my little sister. Grief is not always silent. Silence is not always quiet. A brief flash of light reflected across my face as the Communion container was being opened and my thoughts went to 1John 1:5-7. Walking in the light you have received, consider with me, 1John 1:1-10. As you read these scriptures, think about the Body and Blood of Christ Jesus. Our taking of communion, and that through this gift, that we have been given the ability to look upon and handle, the Word of life. Christ death and resurrection are revealed and manifested in us as we obey and remember what He has done. Well this is the first time I have joined a group to memorize God's Word, but how beautiful to see women around the world committed to doing the same task.  Living Proof Ministries, Beth Moore's ministry is sponsoring this fabulous endeavor.  Ya'll join us! Life can have you running at a high rpm. So when life is coming at you hard and fast, do not forget that little gear called  Neutral . Shifting life's demands can require a steady hand, a close eye on the road, and regular fill-ups. N eutral  in my life is spending time with God through prayer and the reading of His word. But even with regular maintenance, the issues of life still shift me into high gear at times. Sometimes the frenetic pace seems a bit exciting, but an all out run for your money, can also drain your last bit of energy for the road ahead. So. Back to Neutral ... literally. This point was driven home recently by the need to drive someone else's car and my inability to shift from Park to Reverse. The car had a stick shift that refused to go into gear while the engine was running. No amount of self-effort would move it. So I sat there, becoming more aggravated by the moment.
