Choices

Well, we are almost at the door of a new year. I pray that this will be a year of new beginnings and a blessed closure of things undone or half done. Procrastination or putting things off is an easy out on most days. Day by day, moment by moment life slips away. Thinking about something never actually gets it done. But I have found over the years that a beginning however small is still a beginning. And if you apply yourself moment by moment......eventually you will see a result. So today and every day thereafter....Do not put things off. Only put off the failure to make a decision and do it. When you awake, take a second and think....What do I want to accomplish today . Not tomorrow , next week, or even next year...Today. On some days my only goal for the day is to help someone else and on another day it might be to be good to myself by taking the time for an undisturbed bubble bath or cup of coffee. Of course, daily life requires more than this, but it is a daily goal. If you only th...

Reason, Season, or Lifetime

My sister sent this to me this morning. Thank you, Terry. It reminded me to be thankful in all things. Life is hard on some days and a load shared is lighter if only for a season and some things only God can give you the reason. -Debbie People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON , it is usuallyto meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist youthrough a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. T...

Talent

Are you aware of your many talents? As we live out our day today , do not forget to stir up the gifts that God has given to you. Your smile or gift of kindness is unique to you. Just like your finger print, no one else is like YOU. So today with opportunity and without opportunity...LOOK for a way to show us your talent...SHARE.... YOU are needed. Debbie

I Am

Recently I was encouraged to give God the things that I am not . And as I heard this teaching by Joyce Meyer, I heard it speak to me in a way I had not considered . The prayer was put before me in this manner. Lord, I give you what I am and I give you what I am not . The I am part resounded loud and clear in my spirit. Previously I was so hung up on my am nots that I did not rejoice in the I Am part of me. God has redeemed all my parts even the nots! So today I pray, that you, along with me will give God all of your nots and rejoice that He will gladly take them. Debbie Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Thank You!

A quick note to say THANK YOU. Thank you is a simple acknowledgement of your day in day out service to others. Thank you . Debbie

Comparison

To compare.......Belittles. Learning is a wasted art, and comparison is a waste of talent. -Debbie Turner Chavers

Encouragement

I hope today is a wonder filled day for you. Sometimes we wonder how will we make it, how will we possiably get everything done! But remember, today is a gift , given to you . A gift...that needs to be unwrapped. Sometimes, quickly and joyfully as a child and sometimes you have to unwrap the day slowly and thoughtfully to see the beauty within. This day with all its challenges, is a day that will never be again. So...enjoy....you are growing, you are learning, and we are glad you are here on planet Earth. It would not be the same without you and your unique contribution to everyday life. Debbie Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Disappointment

There are times when the only answer is "I should have asked." Presumption is an easy trap! Disappointment is usually led in the door by presumption. ~Debbie Turner Chavers Most pitfalls can be avoided by asking the obvious and not so obvious questions. So remember.....if disappointment is knocking at your door. Be on your guard and ask some questions before you open the door! Debbie

Today is a new beginning!

In my house, I have a line of words across the wall of my dining room to remind me of Hospitality. Keep it simple........Walk in love. I think this is a good thing to remember. At times in the past, I have not kept it very simple or walked in love. But...today is a new day. A new beginning. So ....when I fail and I will. I will remind myself that God's mercies are new every morning. Lamentations 3:22-23 Debbie
