Life and Living
So I was reading 1 Timothy 5 this morning and got schooled on some daily behavior tips. The chapter starts with relationship boundaries. Note I didn't say relationship advice. Advice tends to be followed by those who agree with the advise given.
God's word is a stated, intended boundary for daily life and living behavior. So with this train of thought I checked the definition for the word 'boundary.'
Boundary: a line that marks the limit of an area; a dividing line.
A limit of a subject or sphere of activity.
We are surrounded by those who require respect in our daily dealings. Give honor to those to whom honor is due. Don't be a busy body, take care of your business at home and abroad.
The verse that grabbed my attention was...
1 Timothy 5:21
I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
So what is your boundary? Do you have any? There are definite life and living boundaries contained in God's word. A lot of things are just a notion, a nod at what we think is in God's word. God will reveal His self and His established boundaries as you fellowship with Him. As you take time to eat His word and learn of Him. How we treat one another and how we treat others within our spiritual and physical family is important to God. He set up boundaries. Find out what they are and get in line.
Matthew 11:28-29 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

John C. Maxwell
A few months ago I purchased an NKJV of the bible. It is called The Maxwell Leadership Bible, Lessons in Leadership from the Word of God by John C. Maxwell.
I normally study and read from a King James Version of the bible, but occasionally will use the NIV also. The reason I bought the Leadership version is because I have watched John be interviewed many times and have been blessed by his insight of leadership principles. I have not read all his comments included in this bible yet, but I am reading them along with areas that I am studying at the moment. So far I have been blessed by the notes I have read so I thought I would post for anyone who would like to check it out.
LifeWay has an ereader version available. Click here to access . The ereader copy is in NIV format. You can purchase a briefcase edition or hardback copy at several stores and online.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description from LifeWay:
The Leadership expert, John Maxwell, brings an in-depth look at God's laws for leaders and leadership.
The study of God's word is imperative to lead successfully. God has equipped us to lead and has given us the principles in His word. Studying to show ourselves approved is wise and necessary.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
~Debbie
I am studying in 2 Timothy chapter 1 right now and one of the leadership comments was in reference to God equipping us. This is an excerpt from page 1508, The Law of Empowerment: God Gives Us What We Need to Lead
"God gave Timothy (and us!) everything needed to accomplish the job. He empowers us before He ever expects from us. He gives before He demands. We receive His competence before we receive His commands." -John C. Maxwell

Forgive and Forgiven
© 1999 Debbie Turner Chavers
I posted the forgive sentences in November 2014 from a journal entry of mine and realized today that I needed to post all of it. So here it is, I pray you find healing, the ability to forgive and forgiveness too.
At times it can seem impossible to forgive someone and yet for our well being it is required. Some things are so painful it is difficult to even momentarily consider the thought of forgiveness, yet God is quite specific in His instructions. Healing of our mind and emotions are usually a process- a process of obedience to God's way not our own way.
May you be healed and whole, forgiving and forgiven.
In Jesus Christ name.
Amen
*My journal entry...
"When will the the healing begin?" I ask in my heart as I say it out loud.
I hear the quiet whisper in my soul, "Write, Debbie, write.''
And so I start, tears streaming across my face, pen to paper, I write.
I feel as though I have years of tears to shed and a need of the Son to dry them.
I sit frozen in my heart seeking warmth from the wind of His Spirit. Breathlessly waiting to see if the teeny spark of fire in me will flame.
I write, the words stirring in me.
I hear "Forgive" which is followed by,
One Word
One Way
One Savior
I know this is not my thoughts concerning my pain, it is the Spirit of God reminding me of His Word concerning my ways, my choice to forgive or to hate.
The quick, quiet reply soothes my soul. As with all instruction from the LORD, obedience is required and my lack of ability toward forgiving another has nothing to do with that obedience.
I am given a choice to obey or disobey.
So in the natural man your fleshly desire may not want to forgive, yet for the process of healing you must.
God is Jehovah Jirah, my Provider. He is Provider. That encompasses whatever the need is for me. What I have to give is me and my obedience to His Way. He is not bothered by my lack, my unforgiveness, my hatred.
He wants it all. Everything. Everything submitted. He can and will receive it all. You just have to choose to give it to Him.
Not perfect, not planned. Submitted.
You ask, He supplies. I know it sounds simple and on His part it is simple. But for humans, everything about our flesh wants to do exactly opposite of that which is for our good.
Like physical exercise, the things you can not see with your natural gaze are starting to get stronger, leaner in your body as you exercise.
When exercising a walk of obedience to God's word you are changing also in your body, soul and spirit. You will begin to feel the love that only He can instill in your heart. Choose to obey Him. Trust Him. He is able.

Matthew 6: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Ezekiel 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
