Study Help From Joyce Meyer Ministries

Man Shall Not Live By Bread Alone

A few weeks ago I signed up to receive a weekly study help at the Joyce Meyer website. Spending time reading the Word is a wonderful way to begin to establish a growing relationship with the Lord.  Every relationship requires due diligence to get to know the other party.  How will you know what God has to say about this life and beyond unless you personally take the time to spend time with Him.
Psalm 46:1  God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

This morning I received the study help copied below.   Click here to be taken to the website to sign up for your own weekly encouragement to help in your study of the bible.
I accepted and received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior close to 30 years ago.  My relationship with the Lord is an ongoing investment of my heart and time.  God is so worth your investment.
Mark 8:36  For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his soul?

Has life left you feeling run-down and sapped your energy? Spending time in God’s Word can restore you.

This Week's Scripture:

But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.
Isaiah 40:31

Luke 10:1,2  After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

Galatians 6:7-9 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Isaias, Joel, Matilde, and Marisol enjoying life together at Village 1, Puebla

 An Amazing Revelation

Santiago lay on a filthy cot in the shadows of a home that was more like a shack. He was paralyzed. I still remember, 10 years later, the depth of sadness in his eyes.

The accident happened in 2005 while Santiago was working at a construction site, trying to make enough to lift his family out of their extreme poverty. The 17-year-old young man, so full of promise, lay motionless with a broken neck and back. He despaired of life.

Santiago had a brother named David. I met David behind bars in 2004, when I had been regularly visiting the prison in Huauchinango, Puebla; Mexico, and had the privilege of leading him to Jesus Christ. After his release in 2005 we began to meet every Friday for prayer. It was during one of those times of prayer that I met his brother Santiago.

We prayed for him and, together with my wife, Nicole, began driving him twice a week from his village to receive therapy. He started to improve, both physically and emotionally—even to the point of enjoying our times together. Almost weekly, we were greeted by several little boys playing outside his home, and Nicole would always try to remember to bring candy, soda money and, one time, a Matchbox car for each of them. They would many times join us, or at least stand outside of Santiago’s shack, as we held our weekly service.

This continued for about 6 months, but then David went to work out of town and his family began refusing to answer the door or allowing us to take Santiago to therapies anymore. This was very hard for us to accept, but we could not force our charity.

Fast forward to May 2015.

Nicole was tired after a full day of hospital visits and raising funds to help 2 gravely ill children. She was laying down to rest late that evening when Isaias, one of our orphan sons who lives with us along with his two sisters and his youngest brother, knocked on our door—a very frequent occurrence. (Read his story at https://www.heavensfamily.org/special_reports/205-05/separated-siblings.)

During the day our teenage boys act like typical boys—working, cutting up, and being as loud as we allow. But every evening at least one—and sometimes up to 8 or more—will invade our room just to “chat”. Sometimes they just sit there, waiting for Mama (Nicole) to break the ice…which she does well. On this occasion, she decided to start off by commenting on how big he is getting, and said, "I still remember the first time I saw you, leaning against the tree in San Lorenzo as I was driving there to teach Children´s Church just over 3 years ago now." Isaias then spoke, “That is not where you first saw me. When I was 6 years old, you and Bro. Jason would carry my oldest brother´s best friend, Santiago, to your truck twice a week. You always greeted us, gave us candy and, once, a car to play with. I watched you take care of him and would often sit outside listening as you all would have church." Then Nicole and Isaias began to talk about what happened next. While David was away, his family no longer wanted to hear the gospel, nor would they allow us to take Santiago to therapies. Then Isaias stated, "His parents began to lock the door and not let anyone from outside take care of him. He soon died after they did that." We were very heart broken when we learned of his death many years ago, but also remember very clearly the day he was born again and know we will see him again.
We never knew Isaias was that little boy watching 10 years earlier. We never would have thought he would soon lose both his parents, suffer abuse and live on the streets…and we never knew that one day he would be our son, sitting in our bedroom telling this story that had taken many years for his quiet nature to reveal. Isaias´ older brother was shot to death last year, but  2 years before that tragedy he had encouraged his siblings to all go to The Village because we had cared for his best friend and he knew he could never care for or educate them all in the abject poverty in which he lived.

Living on planet earth we are bombarded with so many obstacles, disappointments, and daily stressful situations. We can easily fall into a negative disposition and even grow so weary in well doing that we stop doing well all together. The Lord renews our strength day by day and the Spirit convicts when we forget that our mouths and lives are to be a daily light to many young eyes and ears. Your prayers and support strengthen us and help us to continue on. Thank you so much. Blessings, Jason

Everything

Genesis Chapter 1-2, And God Said, Let There Be
© 2004 Debbie Turner Chavers

Most people do not realize their importance in day to day living.  Therefore a spirit of excellence is diminished by a lack of knowledge.  We need to see ourselves and our daily walk in this world as important. I want to remind you and encourage you to post this somewhere where it becomes settled in your heart and mind.

"Remember everything you do today is important and makes an eternal difference."
~Debbie Turner Chavers

You are so loved and were born for such a time as this.  God does not make mistakes.  His ways are perfect and planned.  You were part of His plan.  Psalm 139

Everything done or not done has eternal consequences.  If you keep this in mind as you do your daily life you will begin to see the smallest things that connect to a life well lived.
Example...dirty dishes.  Dirty dishes can be a sign that there was nourishment provided and eaten.  The cleaning up gives you an opportunity to show another the value of taking care of what has been provided by our God. The putting away of the dishes shows a sense of order to those watching your actions.  Each action is an opportunity to do what we do as unto the LORD.
Our spirit man thrives on order.  God made us in His image and he had order and purpose as he created.  Read Genesis 1and 2 for an example.
I am asking you, as well as myself to be thoughtful and thankful.  To remember...to think on.
Everything you do today is important and makes an eternal difference.

~Debbie

I Heard Your Voice

Psalm 23-Beside Still Waters
© 2008 Debbie Turner Chavers
At times when spending time in God's presence I write poetry, paint art parables, read the bible, or sit and soak in His Peace.  At times I rejoice, making melody in my heart, singing out loud and at times play my tambourine.  There are so many ways to spend time with the LORD.  Make time today, you will be glad you did.
I wrote this poem during my study for the art parable "Psalm 23-Beside Still Waters"

I Heard Your Voice

Beside still waters
I heard your voice
As a whispered song of love that flowed along.

As I traveled a weary road
I heard your voice as a crescendo
A bubbling brook that refreshed my soul.

As I lay to sleep
I heard your voice
As a wooing song
That lapped gently along the edges of my dreams
Rowing me home.

When my earthly journey is over
At the end of my days
I want to hear you say
"Well done, good and faithful servant."

Matthew 25:14-30

Matthew 25:14  For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
His servants---his goods.  We are not our own, we are His and have been bought with a price.
Do not bury the talent, do not be an unprofitable servant.

Willing Mind

PURPOSE.  Do it.
An encouragement to persevere.  Set your mind on things above.

1 Chronicles 29:5  The gold for things of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of the artificers.  And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?

Everyday there is opportunity set before you to serve God with your whole heart.  God has provided. Out of all the things and possessions we gather, God is able to replace in a blink.  Sometimes we become so insistent in gathering we forget who provided.
As we work day in and day out as unto the LORD...remember...

1 Chronicles 29:14  But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.

What do you lack for the task at hand? Ask, He has all that you need.

~Debbie
