Negative Repentance

Repentance is normally a cleansing act of contrition. There is a desire to repair that which is broken. Yet, negative repentance is "As a dog returneth to its vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly."

This is in reference to returning repeatedly back to a place of hurt. An example would be an offense administered by another to you.
The vomit being the return, or the oral dissection of the wrong, or the thinking and mulling over of the wrong.
Every time we turn to it, we are repenting of our deliverance from it.

This negative repentance is a spirit of error and perverseness that seeks to cloud our judgement and steal our joy.
Do not cast aside, the peace and freedom which God has granted in and through Christ Jesus to you.

It is disobedient to dwell on that which is not pure, lovely, and of good report.
We are to think on those things, the pure, the lovely. We are soldiers who wear our helmets of salvation, taking every thought captive.
If we allow ourselves to wallow in the wrong done, it puts us in opposition to the good that God has given through His Holy Spirit and His Word.

Allow God to heal your hurt.
Obey Him.
Refrain from returning to vomit.

The scripture before and after 2 Corinthians 10:5 states our weapons are spiritual not fleshly and follows with a promise in 2 Corinthians 10:6
"And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience,( when your obedience is fulfilled.)

Expect deliverance.

In Philippians 4 we are admonished to stand fast in the Lord. The peace of God is promised in obedience to Him.
Verse 7..And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Give each care, each hurt to God.
And leave it there.

Proverbs 26:11
As a dog returneth to its vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

2 Corinthians 10:4-6
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Walk in the Light

Walk in the light you have received.  A single sentence flashed in my understanding as we took communion this morning. A brief flash of light reflected across my face as the Communion container was being opened and my thoughts went to 1John 1:5-7.

Walking in the light you have received, consider with me, 1John 1:1-10.
As you read these scriptures, think about the Body and Blood of Christ Jesus. Our taking of communion, and that through this gift, that we have been given the ability to look upon and handle, the Word of life.

Christ death and resurrection are revealed and manifested in us as we obey and remember what He has done.
That through His sacrifice on the Cross, Christ has given you and I, a clear path to the Father.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. (John14:6)
Communion, to dwell upon what He has accomplished through His obedient sacrifice for you and I.
Walk in the light, for in Him is no darkness at all.
Jesus said, "Do this in remembrance of me." (Luke 22:19) (1 Corinthians 11:24-25)

Walk in the Light that God has revealed to you. Today, I have been led to think on the privilege of taking communion. The cost which was borne by Christ and freely given to me and all who desire to receive Him.
I pray that as He lights your path and your understanding that you also will take the time to think on those things which are pure and lovely and of good report.(Philippians 4:8)

1John 1:1-10

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Seek God

Painting

Water-Man Series

Symptom: Willful blindness and laziness
Cure: Matthew 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.

A man is without integrity who will not seek God. For he has lied to himself first and everyone else when he states he is born again.
There is a willful fraud of being. A lazy cocooning of self that was changed at new birth, yet refuses to break free.
To crawl out of former bondage to fly on wings of obedience.

Who will define your truth for you? Will you tenure the precepts and intentions of mere man to determine YOUR life course?
Will you give that which is holy unto dogs?
No, your heart, mind, and body must belong only to the LORD who redeemed you.
You have been redeemed for eternity and a life worth living.

Come out from among them. Be ye separate.
The redeemed must physically remain amongst men and family yet remain united in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

Abide in Him.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
