Look for Beauty

Today I want to encourage you to look for beauty around you. It is easy to perceive the negative and yet there are examples of God's goodness and beauty all around us. Beauty is like a smile to your soul. Scripture tells us to think on good things or things of beauty. Beauty is not just the obvious of face and form, yet can be found in kindness, honesty, flowers in unexpected places, a smile instead of a frown. This is a generalization but you understand what I mean.

Life has a way of throwing rocks in your path. I'm asking you to pick them up and build something great with them. Look at them as free resources! You know... lemons make lemonade.

You are a smart person, well able to make a positive out of the not so positive.

Life is calling and there IS beauty all around you. Look for it.

Hi Debbie,

Great message. I "see" beauty in my son's voice, in the sandy feeling of dirt drying under my fingernails (I've been out "turning up" dirt, planting flowers), and more... when I take the time to focus on such splendor! Thanks for the reminder to "think on good things"!

When?

If not now. Then when? What are you waiting for? The time is now. If you are similar to me, there is something you have dreamed of doing ....but put off for another time. The root is FEAR. Cast it aside. What are you afraid of? Success? For years I was fearful of sharing my art. What if no one liked it. What if no one bought it. Well, I have faced my fear and saw my own criticism. I heard someone say one time ,"That the strongest voice you hear in your mind is YOURS." So look in the mirror and repeat after me. No one may like it, no one may buy it....BUT....I refuse to allow my God given talent to lay fallow any longer. You have many gifts that are uniquely yours. I Heard Your Voice

Psalm 23-Beside Still Waters © 2008 Debbie Turner Chavers At times when spending time in God's presence I write poetry, paint art parables, read the bible, or sit and soak in His Peace.  At times I rejoice, making melody in my heart, singing out loud and at times play my tambourine.  There are so many ways to spend time with the LORD.  Make time today, you will be glad you did.
