Hi! Everyone, I am writing about a wonderful way to share the love of God with others, specifically children.  My husband and I have supported this outreach before and are doing it again this year.
Life Today has many outreaches to help others and at Christmas they have a "Life's Christmas Shoe Project".
The shoe project gives precious children covering for their feet.  I am cutting and pasting an excerpt from their website below.  Click here to be taken directly to Life Today's website to give toward this outreach.  Remember even if you can only give one pair of shoes, it will be such a treasure for the child receiving the gift.

Mark 12:41-44  And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
And he called unto him his disciples and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you,That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want, did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

LIFE’s Christmas Shoe Project has become one of our most important outreaches, with one purpose in mind – to show children that life can be more than just a fight for survival,by sharing the joy of new shoes at Christmas time.
Some of the children who will receive shoes this year live at garbage dumps, scavenging for food and items to sell. They walk over burning trash, broken glass and mounds of diseased rubbish. Others must navigate hot, burning sands in desert regions, or walk on rocky trails to fetch water – all without the comfort and protection.
Most have NEVER received a brand-new pair of shoes! Many have never had shoes at all

They put on their new shoes, and the joy is immediate as they begin running, playing and smiling as they admire their shoes. It seems like such a simple gift to you and me . . . but I can assure you it’s a life-changing gift for them.
For families with little to no income, buying new shoes for their children is out of the question. Consequently, the children’s feet are subjected to infections that can lead to devastating consequences including crippled feet, disease and, in rare cases, even death.
A new pair of shoes – made from a sturdy, durable, water-resistant material – is going to bring a big smile to their faces . . . and over the years, thousands more smiles! The shoe distribution day in villages around the world is pure joy . . . and that’s why I say, "Christmas joy comes in pairs!"
Again this year we’ve been able to keep the cost at $3.60 to manufacture and deliver each pair of shoes, making our project goal $720,000. That means your gift of $36, $72 or even $144 can help provide shoes for 10, 20 or even 40 children!
I thank God such a simple idea has had such a big impact on children and their health. This year as we distribute 200,000 more pairs of shoes, we will be approaching the 1.5 million mark! That’s more than a million blessings and millions of smiles!
What a blessing to share the joy of Christmas with children around the world. For these little ones, and thousands more, the good news of Jesus’ love for them will be presented in a new pair of shoes!
