Dominion

© 1999 Debbie Turner Chavers

Have you ever noticed that we are given dominion over spirits and earthly things, but we are not to dominate one another? To enslave others by our choices or lifestyle. We are called to serve one another. Matthew 20:25

The Lord has given us dominion to manage our life here on the earth. We have been given dominion by the power of His name. Mark 16:17 and Psalm 8:1-9, 1 Peter 4:11
Consider the spirit of the gift we have been given (1 John 4:6) versus the spirit of this world. ( Ephesians 2:2).

Luke 10:19-20  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you: but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

We are to be submitted to God first in all things. We are not to manipulate one another by our own desires. We have been set free in Christ Jesus. We are no longer bond servants to sin, people, or lifestyle choices.
Each person is responsible to control themselves and answer to God. We were granted self-control (temperance) by the Holy Spirit, not remote control.

Many years ago I found myself in a situation where I had to prayerfully consider if my actions would be as unto the Lord or if I was being manipulated by the situation and people involved. After prayerful consideration I realized that : submission and manipulation were different issues. If we submit unto God then His word clarifies the power struggle and its source.

~Debbie

1 Corinthians 6:12  All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

James 4:7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Genesis 1:26-28 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Psalm 8:1-9
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
Out of the mouth of babes and suckling a hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visited the him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Do Not Whisper

My oldest granddaughter and I were sitting at her small table having a snack, sharing a moment.  Sometimes during these moments of sweet fellowship with my granddaughter I tend to speak softly, almost conspiratorially.
But this time as I spoke she said "Don't whisper" and I asked "Why?" To which she replied, "Don't whisper, because I love you!"
I smiled and said "Alright, I love you too. I won't whisper."
She was so serious about her request that I  prayerfully considered our interaction during our meal together. As I thought about it, the Lord brought the scriptures in Matthew 10:27 and Matthew 5:14 to my mind.

So...I am not whispering .
We are a city set on a hill.. Let us shine.
What God whispers in our ear, we preach from the housetops!

Do not whisper, because He loves us.
~Debbie

Matthew 21:15-16 And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they were sore displeased,
And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say?  And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

Matthew 10:26-27  Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Psalm 8:1-9
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
Out of the mouth of babes and suckling a hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

Memorial Poem: When You Think of Me

1961-2015

Even now, it is still difficult to write this, to say out loud that a dear brother and brother-in-law has left this life to be with Jesus forever more. We as his family are comforted knowing he is safely in heaven, yet miss his unique input in all our lives.  Mark's oldest daughter, Heather Chavers James has written a poem to share with our families as we had the first of many holidays without his ridiculous sense of humor.  We all lend a unique perspective of life during our lifetime.  Mark's ability to make my husband laugh was a gift. A gift of agreement between two brothers on the ridiculousness of life and living.
I grieve the loss of this bond between my husband and his younger brother, but I thank God for the fellowship of fights wrestled through, arguments settled and laughter that rang sweet and true.

When You Think of Me
written by Heather Chavers James
A Memorial Poem for her Daddy

Each year as the holiday season nears,
I know that you’ll think of me and struggle through tears.

Please don’t be overwhelmed with grief,
May your sorrow and sadness only be brief.

Remember me as you feel the wind blow,
And early at dawn when the roosters crow.

May the aroma of fresh coffee remind you of me,
Along with the morning dew on the fig tree.

As the sun shimmers down on the garden at noon,
Know that the gift I was given, didn’t happen too soon.

In the evening as fireflies dance through the trees,
Never forget our battles are won on our knees.

Let the glistening stars on the water at night,
Reassure your heart that all of this is right.

Quiet your soul. Listen. Be still.
Your Father is waiting to make your aching heart filled.

After all of my struggle and fighting to be,
I finally accepted the love He was offering me.

I am covered in His feathers, under His wings I found rest.
He kept His promise to me, all I had to do was say yes.

This bird is crafted from a shirt that I used to wear.
May it bring you comfort and make this burden easier to bear.

Please perch this bird high in your tree each year,
As you reminisce on our memories, may they keep me near.

Each time that you notice it, think of me.
Know that I’m loved, I rest, and I’m finally free.

Do You Have a Ready Mind?

© 2011 Debbie Turner Chavers
Matthew 11:15
Mark 7:16
Luke 9:35
Water-Man series

Acts 17
Different people and groups and how they receive the Word.

When Paul spoke to the Jews in Thessalonica, he reasoned with them out of the scriptures for 3 sabbath days. My mind immediately grabs the word sabbath, which to me equals rest. Grace means rest to me also, a rest from my own effort to save myself. I can not. You can not. But we can facilitate the learning process of our relationship with God by having a ready mind.

Acts 17 says some believed, some did not. In Thessalonica, the ones who did not believe had envy, gathered a group of lewd fellows of the baser sort and started trouble. They all heard the same reasoning's of Paul's preaching. Yet received different results due to mind set.
Only you can change your mind.

 In Berea, Acts 17:11-12 we see mind set again. If you have ears to hear, you can hear what the Spirit of God is saying. Verse 11-12 says, These were more noble than those in Thessalonica in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed: also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
Only you can change your mind, your ready mind to receive the truth of God's word.

I am reminded of Paul in Romans 7 and Romans 8 and Paul's ready mind to accept the rest of grace yet the reasoning of the law tried to bring him under the dominion of his flesh.

Romans 7 ends with his declaration in verses 24 - O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

We are more than conquerors when we rely on Jesus and His finished work for us.

Romans 8:4-7 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

When you hear the Word of God, be prepared to listen with all readiness of mind and you WILL find Him. Seek Him and you will find Him.

< JESUS >

© 2012 Debbie Turner Chavers

Recently, I was asked to share my testimony and so I am posting a part of it.  As with any person we all have a history of life lived, before Christ.
The entire world does, on a timeline of history, they call it BC.

But for me, Jesus birth, death and resurrection impacted me personally, not just historically. The facts of who I was and what I did before Christ are inconsequential. Suffice to say..I was a sinner.
A past life of living without the true WAY.
But now in God's eyes, my past is dead, buried, and my sins are gone. Deleted, erased.
I was what is referred to as a good person, a well meaning person.
A sinner.
A better than you a and worse than you, sinner.
A Sinner- a rebellious one who refused to acknowledge the Creator in thought or deed. One who conceptualized my ability to live and die in my own way. To walk out my life in my own way.

John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Hebrews 8:12  For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Hebrews 10:16-17 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

But then Jesus became the center of me, filling in the less than and more than concept of me.
A new creation In Christ is now my identity.

I am now and can be everything He desires of me and manifests through and in me of himself.
This can be true for you as well as me.
No matter what I put on the back of or front of this equation.  Jesus must be the center.
You and I and our abilities are less than until everything in and about us, meets and manifests "His more than."

~Debbie Turner Chavers
ABC- A Simple Salvation prayer

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengtheneth me.

John 15:5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away: behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin: that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Before Christ my self efforts were..
Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

All of John 3--ye must be born again.
Ephesians 3:16-21

Opened Eyes Still See Him

© 2013 Debbie Turner Chavers

Matthew 20:29-34  And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
And, behold, two blind men sitting by the wayside, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?

They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

Their persistence was rewarded as they ignored the crowd and sought the Lord. Our persistence is rewarded also. I once was spiritually blind and the Lord had compassion on me as well.
There are many types of blindness.  Do not give up. Keep persisting.

I noted that they were leaving Jericho, what once had been a walled city. Unbelief can be like a walled city.
I noted they were by a wayside. If you have not chosen Jesus as your Savior, He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, you also, are on the wayside. (John 14:6)
I noted that their persistence and verbal recognition of Jesus caused him to stand still.
Amazing.
Jesus knows when we are trying to get his attention.
Ignore the opposition, call louder, more persistent, keep calling on the Lord.

Their cries of recognition were as a prayer. And Jesus answered, What will ye that I shall do unto you?
I also noted that when their cries were answered, they followed him.
Yet in his compassion, he heard and healed them ...before they followed.

It is the goodness of God that leads men to repentance. (Romans 2:4)

New Testament...
His goodness passed by, stopped, and granted their request to see. Think of that!

Old Testament...
Remember Moses, he asked to see also in Exodus 33:19-23
And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts:
but my face shalt not be seen.

Jesus is our intercessor. Look at the favor and the beauty of the gift given. The Rock of our salvation , Jesus said if we see him we have seen the Father. Jesus is the Rock on which we are able to be hid in and rest on. Our Healer, blind eyes opener, Savior. We are covered. Opened eyes still see Him.

~Debbie

John 14:9 ...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; ...

Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

You Can Make a Difference

The two paragraph excerpts below caught my attention.  Thus my blog today. You may never know the eternal and daily difference that your witness of Jesus Christ does in our world. The average life basically goes unnoticed by men, yet can be bill board size in heaven.
One decision can truly effect a life.
This mothers decision could have devastated a life.  Bill's decision to follow Christ changed the effect of his mothers decision. We all make choices everyday.
Today...choose life.
A better life.
One person reached out and helped someone and now the one who was helped...is now helping thousands!

You can make a positive difference.

-Debbie

An excerpt from...Metro World Child site.  The introduction for Pastor Bill Wilson.

Abandoned on a street corner by his mother at the age of 12, Pastor Bill sat and waited for her at that corner for 3 days. She never came back. A Christian layman who was on his way to see his son in the hospital stopped and picked him up. Anybody could have stopped, but it was the Christian man who stopped. After getting him a hot meal, this gentleman paid for Pastor Bill to attend a Sunday School camp, where he gave his life to Christ. This was the start of his incredible walk with God – one that would change thousands of lives.

About:
Metro World Child is committed to providing hope and building futures for children living in adverse conditions in metropolitan areas around the world. Whether faced with the physical effects of poverty or the dangers of gangs, violence, abuse and hopelessness, we want to see children’s lives placed on a new path through the life-changing love of Christ. By meeting children where they are, personally investing in their lives and presenting the Gospel in a fun, accessible way, we believe we can build foundations that lead to hope, a future and better lives for children around the world.

Robert Moffat
Another short excerpt of someone (unknown) by man, but not unknown to God . This person made a difference to Robert Moffat's life and ultimately a nation.

Excerpt from Profiles in Evangelism © 1976 from WholesomeWords.org
Scottish pioneer missionary to South Africa for over 50 years. He opened mission stations in the interior, translated the Bible into the language of the Bechuanas, and wrote two missionary books on South Africa: Labors and Scenes in South Africa and Rivers of Water in a Dry Place. His oldest daughter Mary, married David Livingstone.

When I think of Robert Moffat, I am rightly reminded of the Scripture in Zechariah 4:10, which witnesses, "For who hath despised the day of small things?"

It seemed a small thing to some godly men in a southern Scotland church when a boy about four years old, from a home of poor but pious parents, knelt at an altar to pray. His decision was despised by the elders as one who was too young to understand. Thank God, one unnamed, unknown-to-us brother bothered to kneel in prayer with "Robbie."
Moffat may well have been converted to Christ then — if not, it was the commencement of a chain of events that led to his conversion and to the opening of doors of evangelism to the uncharted depths of the dark continent of Africa.

All of Matthew 25
Zechariah 4:10  For who hath despised the day of small things?

Resting In Faith

© 1999 Debbie Turner Chavers
Hebrews 4:13
Isaiah 61:10

I studied Hebrews 4 this morning, here are my journal notes from my study. The key scripture that popped off the page and started me pondering and writing was...

Hebrews 4:2  For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

Hebrews 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said,
Hebrews 4:6  Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief.
Hebrews 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Hebrews 4 spoke to my heart of Rest, that we are commanded to rest in him. Faith in God and his Son was the root of resting. The Israelites could not rest because they did not have faith.
We fall out of resting when we give ourselves over to unbelief.

Faith believes God.
Faith trusts God.
Faith in him covers us and wraps us in our robe of righteousness.

It causes us to stand, resting in faith.  Even as we stand in our spiritual armour we understand by faith that we are naked and defenseless without him. Our faith acknowledges that without him we have no armour, no robe of righteousness.
Indeed we are naked.
As we meditate on him and his accomplished work, his finished work, we can rest in him. He came and did his Father's will. see John 17:4

John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Do you hear him? Are you resting in him? Our work is to focus on him, his word, his finished work.  We have been given faith to rest, believe in him.
He has your back! He has provided armor for your front and a robe for your resting.
By his Spirit we can now come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
I see this image of a small child in the bosom of the Father. He who rules the universe comforts, loves and provides for that child. That child is you and I.
By faith come and rest.  His arms are opened wide.

~Debbie

Hebrews 4:12-13 For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Isaiah 61:10  I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a brideroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

For consideration and further study...2 Corinthians 5; Ephesians 6:10-18;
A snack...2 Corinthians 5:3 If be so that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

Shout Out to Encouragers

So daily I seek encouragement to live and walk in peace and with a good attitude. My go to is ALWAYS the word of God contained in scripture.  There are so many resources available and so many gifted individuals that share encouragement with others.  So I am bringing your attention to a few that encouraged me today.

Holy Scripture- my favorite version is KJV.  Love to read Proverbs daily. I try to note which verse for that day..speaks to my heart-grabs my attention..and pay attention to it!

My favorite Proverb verse this morning:
Proverbs 23:12 Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Joyce Meyer ..Hearing From God Each Morning-365 Daily Devotions- favorite encouragement from October 23
We need to work with the Holy Spirit to discover what our unique, customized destiny is, and then do everything we can to fulfill it.
When God has gifted or enabled you to do something, you will be good at it, so find something you are good at and start doing it.
Scripture given...Romans 12:4 As in one physical body we have many parts...and all of these parts do not have the same function or use, so we, numerous as we are, are one body in Christ (the Messiah) and individually we are parts one of another ( mutually dependent on one another.)
Great quote and video spoke volumes to my heart.. on my twitter feed this morning..
Follow Me
© 2010 Debbie Turner Chavers
I love the heart of John the apostle, but I relate to Peter the apostle on a gut/personality level. Peter appears to have been a sincere, dedicated, boisterous man. On most days I am exuberant with a love of life and people.
There are times when I can easily imagine myself, like John leaning on Jesus' breast, so assured, that I am the "Beloved" one. I am amazed at my own "feelings" as I think along these lines of thought. Yet, I am aware that without a close eye toward my Shepherd and His instructions, I can easily be overcome with my feelings, not the scripture facts.
I can relate in areas of my life with each disciple described in God's Word. Yet I never want to relate to Judas Iscariot in action or thought!
Judas Iscariot reminds me of my Art Parable, The Love of Money Is The Root of All Evil, © 2010 Debbie Turner Chavers.
Each disciple related to Jesus Christ in a unique way in their personal relationship  with Him.
Yet, Judas Iscariot is the only one who appears to call Jesus, Rabbi (Master) but not Lord.
It is not hard to see the choices that Judas made toward the "Follow Me" admonition. Without the saving knowledge of Jesus as his Lord, Judas evidently found it impossible to "Follow Him."
A love of money will warp your thoughts concerning God and people.  Our flesh manifests quickly if our hearts do not call Jesus, Lord and only acknowledge Him as a teacher. All of humanity is a teacher of something. But only Jesus is Master and Lord.
The sincerity of godly love is often misunderstood and mistrusted.  The flesh is suspicious toward sincerity, it appears unnatural to the natural mans mind. Only the Spirit of God can cause love, His love to make sense to our natural minds.
As I studied John 13, I saw that Jesus washed all of the disciples feet.  The all included Judas Iscariot, John, and Simon Peter's feet.
John leaned on Christ, Judas Iscariot would betray Christ and Peter would deny Christ.
Yet..He washed them all. Not just the ones named. He washed them all. He is still willing and able to wash and redeem you today.
Judas hardened his heart toward Jesus Christ, but he loved the bag he was entrusted to keep.
If you do not heed Jesus' admonition to "Follow Me" the Love of money, not actual money, will trip you as a sure stumbling block in your eternal path toward the Father and His Truth.
Consider who or what is your Master.
Matthew 6:24 and Luke 16:13
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  "Follow Him."
~Debbie
John 13:13  Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
John 13:23  Now there was leaning on Jesus bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
John 12:6 This he said, not that cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was in put therein.
John 13:29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.
Always A Place For You
Luke 15:11-32
This morning as I was thinking about Gods great love for you and I, this is what came to my heart.  We all at times have been or are currently a prodigal. God is the Father and God has provided all that His children need. God longs for you with an everlasting love.
Luke 13:31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
Jeremiah 31:3  The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying,Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee.
Isaiah 44:22  I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me, for I have redeemed thee.
Isaiah 45:6  That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me.  I am the LORD, and there is none else.
Always A Place For You
There is and always will be a place for you.
In my arms
In my heart
In my fields
At my table
There is and always will be a place for you.
Mark 10:16  And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
Luke 22:30  That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
John 4:35  Say ye not, There are yet four months, and then cometh the harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already unto harvest.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ--Good News!
Everyone the gospel of Jesus Christ and His atoning blood shed for our sins is Good News!  Pastor Joseph Prince posted this encouragement on September 20, 2015.  I am reposting his message.
~Debbie
----------------------------------------------------------
Philippians 3:13-14  Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Are you living a life of regrets thinking, “If only…”? “If only I had that college education…If only I had married the right girl…If only I had taken up the other job…If only I had not made that stupid mistake…”
Is your past robbing you of the joy of today? Then forget your past!
You might say, “But Pastor Prince, you do not know what I have done in the past!”
Consider Paul. If the devil had anything to bring against Paul, it would be reminders of how he had persecuted the early church and caused the deaths of many, including Stephen, the first Christian martyr.
Paul had done horrendous things that were hard for him to forget. But he had such a revelation of God’s awesome forgiveness that he could say, “forgetting those things which are behind…I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus”.
Beloved, God has forgiven you of all your sins. He has completely forgiven you and declared, “Your sins and lawless deeds, I will remember no more.” (Hebrews 10:17)
Like Paul, you can forget your past, the wrongs you have done and the hurts you have caused others or been through yourself. God can take the tears of yesterday and transform them into the miracles of tomorrow. He can restore to you in all abundance what you have lost. He can cause all things, even the painful events of your past, to work together for your good. (Romans 8:28)
God’s Word says, “The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.” (Isaiah 58:8) His glory will cover your past. Wherever you go, His glory covers your past. It is no longer the same past that you know of because His glory has descended on it. Your past is past. It has been wiped out. It is gone! So don’t let your past rob you of today’s joy any longer!
Let Us Praise The LORD, Let us Hope Again
© 2012 Debbie Turner Chavers
This morning I want to encourage you to praise God with all that is within you.  My morning study is in consideration and adoration of the One who keeps me.  Think of that.  Keeps me. Keeps you. Never to leave or forsake us.  He who created and established the world and orders our footsteps, Keeps us. As I looked through the pages of my Bible I noted the notes I have left written as God's Word quickened my understanding and revealed His love and hope to me. The word hope is revealed 130 times in 121 verses in scripture.
I want to encourage you to begin to hope again.  Begin by reading God's word. Not sure where to start? Click on the word hope and start reading. May Father God fill you with His Hope in Jesus name. Amen.
Romans 4:17 ( As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Romans 4:18  Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
1 Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
May God be with you,
~Debbie
Christmas Shoe Project
Can Two Walk Together,Except They Be Agreed?
Amos 3:3
©2004 Debbie Turner Chavers
Hi! Everyone, I am writing about a wonderful way to share the love of God with others, specifically children.  My husband and I have supported this outreach before and are doing it again this year.
Life Today has many outreaches to help others and at Christmas they have a "Life's Christmas Shoe Project".
The shoe project gives precious children covering for their feet.  I am cutting and pasting an excerpt from their website below.  Click here to be taken directly to Life Today's website to give toward this outreach.  Remember even if you can only give one pair of shoes, it will be such a treasure for the child receiving the gift.
Mark 12:41-44  And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
And he called unto him his disciples and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you,That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want, did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
~Debbie
LIFE’s Christmas Shoe Project has become one of our most important outreaches, with one purpose in mind – to show children that life can be more than just a fight for survival,by sharing the joy of new shoes at Christmas time.
Some of the children who will receive shoes this year live at garbage dumps, scavenging for food and items to sell. They walk over burning trash, broken glass and mounds of diseased rubbish. Others must navigate hot, burning sands in desert regions, or walk on rocky trails to fetch water – all without the comfort and protection.
Most have NEVER received a brand-new pair of shoes! Many have never had shoes at all
They put on their new shoes, and the joy is immediate as they begin running, playing and smiling as they admire their shoes. It seems like such a simple gift to you and me . . . but I can assure you it’s a life-changing gift for them.
For families with little to no income, buying new shoes for their children is out of the question. Consequently, the children’s feet are subjected to infections that can lead to devastating consequences including crippled feet, disease and, in rare cases, even death.
A new pair of shoes – made from a sturdy, durable, water-resistant material – is going to bring a big smile to their faces . . . and over the years, thousands more smiles! The shoe distribution day in villages around the world is pure joy . . . and that’s why I say, "Christmas joy comes in pairs!"
Again this year we’ve been able to keep the cost at $3.60 to manufacture and deliver each pair of shoes, making our project goal $720,000. That means your gift of $36, $72 or even $144 can help provide shoes for 10, 20 or even 40 children!
I thank God such a simple idea has had such a big impact on children and their health. This year as we distribute 200,000 more pairs of shoes, we will be approaching the 1.5 million mark! That’s more than a million blessings and millions of smiles!
What a blessing to share the joy of Christmas with children around the world. For these little ones, and thousands more, the good news of Jesus’ love for them will be presented in a new pair of shoes!
